"Officer Kendle Blackburn died Dec. 28 after a long battle with the virus. A release from Gov. Mike Parson’s office at the time said Blackburn contracted the virus while on duty in November. Lebanon officials were told last week that the city’s workers’ compensation insurance provider, Missouri Employers Mutual, determined Blackburn’s COVID-19 exposure and death “is not compensable under workers’ compensation,” The Springfield News-Leader reported. Police Chief Byran Arnold said the decision seems to violate an emergency rule Parson signed in April last year that allows first responders to receive workers’ compensation if they are diagnosed with COVID-19 or if…

  • Post category:Blog

"The system failed 7 bikers, veteran Marines, killed on a New Hampshire Highway. That’s the finding of the final report by the NTSB into the deaths of those known as the “New Hampshire 7.” Among the findings, a board says deficiencies in out-of-state driver’s license notification processing and insufficient federal oversight of motor carriers contributed to the horror on the highway. The board also found however that shortcomings in motorcycle rider safety contributed too. The board approved a draft of the report a few weeks ago. Here’s the original story about that: Systems meant to keep motorists safe failed to…

Several questions to ask your attorney regarding your personal injury claim

  • Post category:Blog

"1. Are you in a position to handle my case? Experienced attorneys know their limits. They can dedicate too much of their skills, energy, and time to their research. Right attorneys trust in the individuals and causes they represent and will not sign clients when they know that the case does not get the attention it needs. 2. What fields of law does the lawyer specialize in? You should certainly not go to a brain surgeon to deliver your baby even though they are both doctors. In the same way, you would not go to an attorney who doesn’t rely…
